  2. Hi Karen & Ginny. Got a question for Makenna while you are south of the equator. When you flush the toilet does the water swirl in the same direction as in California? Is it clockwise or counterclockwise?

    • I tried flushing the toilet in New Zealand to check which direction the water went down, but the jets made it hard to tell. Thanks for asking a question and getting on to hdworldtrek.com! P.S Sorry it took me a long time to respond. Have a great time!

  3. Hi Family,
Just wanted to check in and see how the trip was going so far? Makenna what do you think about all the cool places you have seen so far? What have you thought about the food?

    • I think some food might not taste as good than others, like spicy things which are definitely not my favorite. I have loved every place i’ve went so far. Hope you come to Twain Harte!

    • I ate a lot of lamb(my favorite food) in New Zealand and Australia and also tried pavlova, and even though it gave me a stomach ache because pavlova is almost 100% sugar, it tasted really good!

  4. Makenna,
I finally sat down and read through your blog beginning to end, studying the wonderful images and eloquent words you’ve chosen to describe your “trip of a lifetime.” Well done young lady! I appreciate your attention to detail without becoming too wordy, if you know what I mean. You do a terrific job of capturing our attention while still making it entertaining and sometimes even educational. Thanks for sharing your blog– I believe you may have a future in travel journalism (when you aren’t busy acting, singing, and dancing). I cannot wait to see where your next adventure lands you! Love to you and your Moms as you soak it all in. Is Colorado on your itinerary? 😉
    Love,
    Vicki, Kelly, Aspen & Dakota

      • Makenna,
Just returned home from walking Dakota and Aspen. Miss Aspen is both blind and deaf, but she still gets around like a trooper, and she loves her daily walks while riding along in her pouch. Glad to hear that Powder is well–Dakota sends her love and misses her “BFFL.” Come see us anytime when you return home. In the meantime, keep soaking in all the new experiences you can and learning along the way. The best way to “learn,” as you know, is to totally emerge yourself into it and be with it–experiential learning at its finest! You’re mastering it quite well, Makenna!
        Love,
        Vicki
